EnergyWise Program - Single Family
National Gridís EnergyWise Program was first offered to residential ratepayers in February of 1998, and is designed to provide residential customers with measures and education to improve energy efficiency. Single family residences (one to four units per facility) and multifamily residences (more than four units per facility), including both homeowners and renters, were eligible for the program. The Energy Wise program was modeled after the companyís Residential Space Heat and Multifamily Retrofit programs that created direct savings through the installation of energy saving measures in electrically heated homes. The Energy Wise program also seeks to serve non-electrically heated customers and to achieve savings through changes in consumer behavior. The program does this through a consumer education component that is intended to provide participants with more information about energy consumption in their homes and steps they can take to reduce their electric bills and consumption.
