American Synergy’s Central Valley Hard-to-Reach Mobile Home Energy Savings Program was implemented in 2002-2003 as a local third party program in Pacific Gas and Electric’s service territory. The program targets a very specific market: mobile home customers in California’s Central Valley. The program is mainly a resource acquisition effort designed to achieve the highest level of cost effective energy savings among the hard-to-reach segment of mobile home customers, many of whom rely on electricity to heat and cool their homes. The program has lower cost share and co-pay requirements than other programs targeting single family homes. Specifically the program seeks to identify mobile home owner participants and install measures likely to maximize the energy efficiency of each mobile home – achieving permanent, cost effective savings and reducing peak load requirements.
